Chamberlain and CN4B say goodbye to Tippa Naphtali

Chamberlain Forum and CN4B are very sadly saying goodbye at the end of January to our project manager, Tippa Naphtali. He has been part of our team for nearly two years, and has worked closely with us to develop and deliver Resident University, as well as CN4B programmes.
In particular, Tippa has transformed Resident University Online learning, as well as setting up a highly successful mentoring project, which we aim to find a way of continuing in the future.

Sector wins VAT exemption on shared services

The government has confirmed it will introduce the long-awaited VAT exemption for civil society organisations that wish to share back-office services. Confirmation of the exemption is contained in the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement Document published today. It removes an additional VAT charge which can arise when organisations such as charities collaborate.

New art & community cafe opens in Moseley

Food

An amazing new art and community café has opened called Ort in the Old Print Works. (opposite the Moseley Baths in a former print factory). The café has been completely renovated and offers excellent value home cooked food open from 8am – 8pm every day and 11pm on Saturday.

Promoting the idea of younger trustees

Alex Swallow is one of that rare breed – a young trustee. He is determined to spread the word and encourage more young people to get involved. When I was asked to be a trustee it was a total shock. I was passionate about the charity I volunteered for and perhaps if I had thought about it I could have seen that I had a few skills for the role.
