2010 Community Walk & Run for Wellbeing

The 2010 Community Walk for Wellbeing returns for its second year to Handsworth Park on Saturday 25th September 2010 and aims to promote community cohesion and wellbeing. This sponsored charity walk and run is open to the whole community and will bring together people of all different faiths and backgrounds, providing them with the opportunity to raise much needed funds for three different charities.

New online charity calendar to help fundraising efforts

The developers of a unique free online calendar dedicated to charity events are urging all charities, both national and local, to upload details of their events in advance of the website’s launch on 12 May 2010.

Play With Your Food workshops

This workshop will help practitioners create fun activities with food which they can use in their settings to integrate the idea of healthy eating. The activities will include a desert island ice-breaker; camp fire cooking; as well as growing your own vegetables and mentos explosions! Practitioners will also get a free goody pack on completion of the workshop.

Community Cohesion Football Tournament

Birmingham Settlement in partnership with Games 4 All ltd are hosting a Five A-side Football Tournament through the West Midlands Police (Building Blocks Fund). The Tournament is promoting community cohesion in the inner and outer areas of Birmingham.

Call to youth providers & young people in Handsworth

This bi-monthly meeting aims to provide a forum for youth providers, youth workers & young people to improve opportunities for young people living in Handsworth. Together we can make a greater difference and ensure that young people in Handsworth have access to high quality youth services.
