Frontline Agency Training & Support in Birmingham

The Frontline Agency Training and Support project is a consortium of eight partner organisations whose expertise covers a range of social welfare issues including welfare benefits, debt, housing, asylum issues, consumer rights, employment. Five of these have previously worked together on a similar pilot project between 2004-2006.

Future Jobs Fund

The Fund was announced in Budget 2009 and the money is to be spent between October 2009 and March 2011. As the Future Jobs Fund is a challenge fund, not all organisations that submit bids will be successful. The fund is run by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in partnership with the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) and with input from Jobcentre Plus Regional Government Offices in England and Devolved Administrations in Scotland and Wales.

Young People’s Learning Agency [formerly part of Learning & Skills Council]

The YPLA has been launched as a Non-Departmental Public Body with responsibility for championing education and training for young people in England. They will do this by providing financial support to young learners, by funding Academies for all their provision and by supporting local authorities to commission suitable education and training opportunities for all 16-19 year olds.
