Capacity Builders

Capacity Builders was set up in April 2006 to take over the management of the ChangeUp programme and to work with other funders to develop strategies and influence policy on building the capacity of the third sector.
ChangeUp Governance Hub

The Governance Hub is a partnership of organisations working to improve the levels of good governance throughout the voluntary and community sector in England. The Hub offers a range of services and ideas via their website, as well as through a partnership programme with local and regional organisations, through commissioning research and through publishing new resources and organising events.

If you wish to set up a charity, using one of the Charity Commission model governing documents will help save time. Each of these contains the basic provisions which many charities use. Indeed, existing charities wishing to update their governing document may also find these a useful source for model provisions.

The Performance Hub aims to enable VCS organisations to achieve more, through performance improvement. Of the six partners, Charities Evaluation Services (CES) and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) are the lead partners; CES is the accountable body.

The Trustee Bank

Trustee Bank offers a free service to advertise or view trustee vacancies. It also provides information about becoming a trustee and on recruitment and induction practices. There are approximately 820,000 charity trustees in England and Wales. This area of Trustee Bank will help you to find a vacancy and provides information on the roles and responsibilities of trustees.

Trustees Unlimited is a joint venture between Bates Wells & Braithwaite, the National Council for Voluntary and Community Organisations (NCVO) and Russam GMS and it is a solution to the problem many organisations face – trying to recruit high quality trustees and non executives in a rigorous and yet cost effective way.
