The Accounting Standards Board has abandoned plans to require charity shops to value their stock at the point it is received. The ASB is currently drawing up an accounting standard for all organisations that provide public benefit, including charities, universities and housing associations, as part of wider reforms of accounting standards.

Birmingham City Council has launched the consultation for the 2012/13 budget. Local people, staff and organisations and can have their say on proposals until 8th January 2012. A series of public meetings will be held throughout late October and November.

The publication of our e-bulletin is switching to a fortnightly cycle with occassional alerts in between. This will be effective from 6th October 2011. This has become necessary as the CN4B development worker, Tippa Naphtali, is now employed on a part-time basis and has additional demands on his time.
