Mentoring Programme Pilot

Stronger together...
With funding from Birmingham Community Foundation we successfully delivered a pilot network mentoring programme. Activities took place between January and May 2011, Culminating in a joint event in June 2011.
Following a selection and assessment process, three pairings were selected to take part in the programme.
The programme participants were:
- Mentors – Women’s Networking Hub, East Yardley Neighbourhood Forum and Birmingham PlayCare Network
- Mentees – Polish Expats Association, Nechells POD and Second to None
During the process the mentors provided support and advice on governance, policy, funding and management issues identified by the mentees over a fixed period.
End of programme showcase event:
At the end of the pilot all six participants (with the support of CN4B) staged a community event to showcase their learning, and share the benefits of a mentoring approach in local community development and capacity building strategies.
