SITA Trust is an ethical funding organisation dedicated to making lasting improvements to the natural environment and community life. The Trust is a not-for-profit company, a registered and accredited environmental body that operates under the Landfill Communities Fund.
SITA are funding improvements in community facilities or for education about environmental issues. They have also just launched their Youth Volunteering theme.

Youth Volunteering
This fund has been created to assist young people aged 14-25 to volunteer their time to create or enhance facilities that can be enjoyed by the wider community.

Enhancing Communities
This is the name of SITA Trust’s funding programme for community improvement projects. They can support projects in any of 90 funding zones around qualifying waste processing sites owned by their donor, SITA UK. The programme offers two schemes providing both small and large grants.
Small Grants Scheme
A fast-track process for applications for funding of up to £10,000. The overall project cost must be no more than £20,000. There are 6 funding rounds each calendar year for the small grants scheme.
Application deadlines for 2010:
- 10am on 2nd February 2010 (notification of decision by 1st May)
- 10am on 1st April 2010 (notification of decision by 1st July)
- 10am on 4th June 2010 (notification of decision by 31st August)
- 10am on 9th August 2010 (notification of decision by 2nd November)
- 10am on 11th October 2010 (notification of decision by 22nd December)
