Champion the third sector with CSLP – fully funded

Support - join hands

The Clore Social Leadership Programme (CSLP) is the latest initiative from the Clore Duffield Foundation, and could be an excellent opportunity for passionate active citizens to become third sector champions.

In recent years, Clore research into leadership capacity in the third sector indicated that there was minimal training provision for people with leadership potential. Furthermore, any investment associated with leadership was being channelled into those who are already in senior positions. This is (or should be) of great concern, as it is vital that innovative, fresh ideas are delivered by the charities, community groups and social enterprises, in order to keep them current, vibrant and effective.

As a consequence, The Clore Social Leadership Programme has been designed to remedy this. The aim is to identify, develop and connect aspiring leaders in the wider third sector, including charities, community organisations, social enterprises, co-operatives, social landlords and housing associations. These aspiring leaders can apply to be Fellows, provided that they have demonstrated some of their leadership potential in the work that they have already undertaken.

If they are successful, they will enter into a personalised programme that will help them to develop those skills. The core elements are contained here.

The Fellowships will be funded for a period of between 12 and 24 months, on a full or part-time basis, and could potentially entail an element of compensation for the Fellow’s employer. The Fellows will ultimately be expected to commit to being a long-term champion in the third sector, both as an active member of the Fellowship and by delivering benefits for individuals and communities.
